We provide the following types of Advanced Testing:
Comprehensive Blood Work
Routine blood work is an integral part of our patient experience at TYM. We take look at how your body is doing internally, to see the imbalances you may not display externally. Using the comprehensive blood work alongside an intensive health history, we can get a complete picture of where your health is and what preventative strategies we need to address. When possible, we will utilize your insurance, but cash pay labs are always an option
Food Sensitivities and Allergies
Underlying food sensitivities can cause an array of complaints; not only digestive but systemic symptoms such as anxiety, acne, and fatigue. We can test for both allergies and sensitivities – the difference being which type of immune cells are creating the reaction and how we treat the specific reaction. We can assess for more than 200 different foods, as well as food additives like preservatives and dyes. Once we have your results, we will create a protocol to decrease your body’s reactions to foods that are symptomatic.
Micronutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants, play an essential role in human health. They are crucial for proper immune function, energy production, growth, and development. Micronutrient deficiencies are extremely common and can be either the single or partial root cause of different diseases/conditions. Individuals over 60 are especially at risk for these deficiencies. Even with so many of us on different supplements, the efficacy of those supplements and our ability to absorb them can vary. Our micronutrient panel will give a clear analysis of which nutrients your body is deficient in, and which nutrients if any, you might be getting too much of. We can also see how well your body is using the micronutrients based on intra– and extra-cellular counts. Following this test, we can create a custom supplement protocol, and even customize vitamin injections and/or IV therapy cocktails to meet your individual needs.
This comprehensive microbiome test looks at the diversity of the microorganisms living in your intestines – both good and bad bacteria. It gives us a picture of how the ecosystem within your gastrointestinal system is functioning, which contributes to an individual’s different conditions. It also assesses for pathologic inflammation and damage in the intestine. From this test, you will know if you have a leaky gut, which is a root cause of many systemic symptoms.
Full Fungal, Bacterial, and Parasite Panel
There are few tests that accurately discover obscure parasites and fungi. Fortunately, we offer the most advanced parasite test in the country. Parasites can cause an array of symptoms, as they feed off you indefinitely until treated properly to eradicate them. Without proper treatment, they can be a root cause of long-term ill-health.
SIBO Breath Test
Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is more common than you might think. Often confused with leaky gut, it can vary in its presentation. Excessive bacterial overgrowth occurs in the small intestine where bugs should not be abundant. As a result, malabsorption occurs, leaving you malnourished. Additionally, you may develop symptoms that include abdominal pain, nausea, gas and bloating, diarrhea or constipation, food intolerances, and unintentional weight loss. We use the most advanced form of breath testing to determine if you have bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine. We test for all three forms – hydrogen, methane, and hydrogen sulfide. Then, we treat accordingly to eliminate the overgrowth and restore your gut’s natural balance.
The body’s endocrine system (hormones) is a complex and intricate system of communication between your cells. When your hormone system is imbalanced you will not feel optimal. This often occurs during menopause and andropause but can happen at any age. We use both blood and dried urine tests to determine individual hormone needs – from thyroid and adrenal hormones, to the reproductive system for both male and female. Depending on where your levels are, we can prescribe support including botanical, nutritional, and hormone replacement therapies to bring you back into balance.
For females, we can do further analysis with our DUTCH Cycle Mapping test. This gives insight into how your reproductive hormones are behaving throughout your entire menstrual cycle. Then, we can use the information to alleviate complications such as PMS, irregular periods, and infertility.
Exposure to mold looks different for each individual – with symptoms ranging from long-term fatigue to extreme dysfunction. We test for an array of different mycotoxins when mold is a suspected culprit causing your health issues. We can use this information to confirm that mold illness is occurring, and let it guide us toward effective treatments to eradicate the mold burden on your body.
Symptoms of tickborne illness can often mimic complications of other diseases, which is why these illnesses, such as Lyme Disease, can go undiagnosed for long periods of time. If you know you’ve been in an area where ticks are present, or if you have symptoms that fall under the umbrella of Lyme (fatigue, muscle, and joint pain, fever and chills, etc) but no other diagnosis has been made, this test can be a great evaluation of the potential tickborne burden.
One of our commensal (a.k.a. friendly) fungi is Candida. Oftentimes, this fungus can be overfed, or our immune defenses to keep it in check can fail. As a result, we end up with overgrowth. This overgrowth can lead to frequent yeast infections, gastrointestinal dysfunction, brain fog, and more. When we find that Candida overgrowth is present, we can provide treatment recommendations to bring it back into check, and clear your body to feel good again.
If you feel you may have been exposed to coronavirus, we can test your serum for antibody markers that can determine if you have any immunity built up to COVID-19.
Mutations in this gene play an important role in your B vitamin and methylation homeostasis, which is an major component of a wide variety of metabolic reactions. Mutations in this gene have been linked to anxiety, cardiovascular risk, and more.
Mutations in these genes can play a role in cholesterol homeostasis, making it hard to correct your cholesterol with typical interventions.
Factor II and IV clotting factors
This genetic test determines if you are at abnormally elevated risk for blood clots.
